Dear #WickedWriters,
I don’t know about you but I am feeling particularly “over it” these days. I’m over cold weather and like many others, I’m over this feelings associated with this endless pandemic.
I say this with a recognition it is a privilege to be able to same I’m “over it”, but also comforted by the fact I am not alone. And while the loneliness that comes with this time of year and COVID-19 may feel endless, I hope that you will take this time to be kind to yourself and those around you.
Any who, it’s hard to believe that Season 2 of the Wicked Writers Podcast is in full swing. In fact, we only have 2 episodes left this season— WILD!
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted the all of the Season 2 episodes so here is what’s been going on so far:
PRE-SUPERBOWL episode with Dan Cagen (Sasha’s brother (see below), my fiancé and great writer in his own right who covered the Boston Bruins for a number of years) and Tim Whelan Jr., regional director of sports for Wicked Local and former Patriots beat reporter, share their #sports writing wisdom and thoughts about Tampa or “TOMpa” Bay.
Music and writing episode with Thom Dunn. He is Boston-based and is currently a staff writer for the New York Times' Wirecutter and a blogger at BoingBoing, as well as the singer/guitarist of the Roland High Life.
Emotional intelligence episode with Yale researcher and my first campaign mom, Zorana Pringle.
Biotech scientist and LGBTQ+ activism episode with Jamie Kmak who is a multi-hobbyist extraordinaire.
And last but certainly not least, Quirkyalone episode on solitude, dating during COVID and staying true to you with my future sister-in-law, Sasha Cagen. She also wrote a lovely blog on the occasion.
I’ve certainly overloaded you with enough content to keep you occupied for at least a few days.
The last episode for Season 2 will air on Tuesday, February 16. If you would like to be featured or know someone who you think should be on the pod for Season 3 (likely starting in April— we all need breaks), please email me hello@wickedwriters.org.
Stay well and wicked,
Rachael
