The Importance of Community
The #WickedWednesday newsletter is inspired by my desire to share stories focused on promoting community and creating positive change, something we all need more of nowadays.
I feel like we talk about community a lot in this newsletter. The reason why is because in a world that can feel so disconnected, I believe it is important to remind ourselves why we're all here in the first place - and that is to support one another.
Last week, I participated in a great small gathering of women who are obsessed with coffee and good conversation (hosted by the one and only Jamie Chapman!). As I looked around the small square wooden table at Wild Hare in Hudson, I reveled at the opportunity to listen what the other women were saying. As someone who often willingly contributes when others tend to want to be silent, I have really discovered how therapeutic it can be when I just stop and listen.
We shared our thoughts, our fears and our need for more hope and joy in this world. And that was the entire point of the gathering. We weren't there to create world peace, we were there to listen and learn from one another. In my opinion, these types of gatherings are what the world really needs right now.
Needless to say it was the perfect way to wrap up Women's History Month! I leave you, #wickedwriters, with this thought - what can you do to create these kinds of conversations in your community? I'd love to hear your ideas!
Spirituality, Healing & Self-Approval
This week's feature is about Elaine Blais, author, life coach and helping us all master the art of self-approval. What is the art of self-approval you may ask? Well, in short it is being at peace with who you are.
Elaine is a kind soul who wants to bring more joy into the world through community and connection (you can see why we got connected :)). She isn't afraid to challenge the status quo and I love this quote she shared during the gathering I described earlier.
"When people see a dandelion - some see a weed and others see a wish."
It's all about PERSPECTIVE. And if you are wanting some guided coaching on how to embrace your best qualities and lead from a place of joy, Elaine is your gal. She also has a writing group called "Women Writing Their Lives" - need I say more?
Upcoming Break
We all need a break and I am no exception. There will be no #WickedWednesdays on April 10, as I plan to be in full relaxation mode on vacation. #selfcare
