Dear #WickedWriters,
It’s hard to believe another season of the Wicked Writers podcast has come and gone! It was great to have so many talented writers on the pod and I hope you all will take a listen to their stories. From an LGBTQ mystery novelist to the Quirkyalone movement, this season has really shown me just how important it is to highlight writers who are sharing their work in new and innovative ways.
That said, Season 3 will begin on April 13. Yes, this is a long time, but we all need some self-care breaks these days. But not to worry, I will be taping episodes during the month of March for Season 3, so please reach out to me at hello@wickedwriters.org if you or someone you know is a writer that is doing cool stuff and would like to be featured on the pod.
Here are all of the Season 2 episodes for your listening pleasure:
Rachel “Rachie” Sharona Lewis is an accidental mystery novelist who just published her first book “The Rabbi who Prayed with Fire”. By day, she organizes faith communities in the Boston area around local social justice efforts.
Luke Morey on the art of storytelling. He is a Hofstra Alum and currently lives in New Hampshire doing freelance editing work for Ambiguous Podcast Solutions. He also has his own podcast, Midnight Showing, in which the hosts review movies from the 80's and 90's.
Sara Letourneau founder of Heart of the Story Editorial & Coaching Service. Graduated from Curry College (outside Boston, Massachusetts) with a BA in English Literature and Writing, earned a Certificate in Copyediting from Emerson College, and worked 10+ years as a copy editor in the corporate world, all while pursuing freelance and creative writing on the side.
PRE-SUPERBOWL episode with Dan Cagen (Sasha’s brother (see below), my fiancé and great writer in his own right who covered the Boston Bruins for a number of years) and Tim Whelan Jr., regional director of sports for Wicked Local and former Patriots beat reporter, share their #sports writing wisdom.
Music and writing episode with Thom Dunn. He is Boston-based and is currently a staff writer for the New York Times' Wirecutter and a blogger at BoingBoing, as well as the singer/guitarist of the Roland High Life.
Emotional intelligence episode with Yale researcher and my first campaign mom, Zorana Pringle.
Biotech scientist and LGBTQ+ activism episode with Jamie Kmak who is a multi-hobbyist extraordinaire.
And last but certainly not least, Quirkyalone episode on solitude, dating during COVID and staying true to you with my future sister-in-law, Sasha Cagen. She also wrote a lovely blog on the occasion.
I hope you enjoy these episodes and please email me hello@wickedwriters.org with any feedback, questions, comments, concerns.
“See” you soon,
Rachael
