Dear Wicked Writers,
As our VP-elect, Kamala Harris or ,-la (as I will refer to her in this newsletter because I’m a writing nerd and I’m obsessed with this Etsy shirt) said on Saturday night:
And while this newsletter won’t always be about our democracy (which has found new life— yay!), I hope it will be a “first, but not last” of its kind outlet for creatives to convene. That’s why I started Wicked Writers after all!
A little about me: I am a person who expresses myself through writing and speaking truth to power. I want to share that experience with you and help others tell their stories. And as any good millennial does, I started a Wicked Writers podcast—which now has three episodes!
Episode 1: Emily Smith of Guide to Wholeness Healing.
Episode 2: Pre-Election Pod with Dave Cavell, lawyer and former Obama speechwriter.
JUST DROPPED: Episode 3: Kwame Sarlo-Mensah, founder of Identity Talk LLC.
I wouldn’t be a good political organizer if I didn’t now make some hard asks:
Please consider supporting the pod so I can continue to grow our audience. If you want to be a guest, sponsor or just chat feel free to email me at hello@wickedwriters.org. My season one lineup is full, but I’ll be taping season two in January!
If you need any writing assistance, I am doing speechwriting, copy editing, presentation skills, social media and podcasting work on Fiverr. Regardless of project size, I would love to work with you! I just need a few more projects and I will become a Level One seller on Fiverr, so please consider hiring me for your freelancing needs.
Also, some exciting news coming out of the teaching arena! I will be leading a class on giving presentations/writing/speeches in a Zoom world through the Cambridge Center for Adult Education this Winter. This will be a six week long course starting the week of January 11 on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30pm. While the winter schedule isn’t live on the CCAE website yet, I’ll make sure to drop a note when you can sign up.
Last but not least, please tell your friends to subscribe for a little bi-weekly fun!
Stay wicked,
Rachael
